Cycon Civil Group was awarded the contract for the Clayton Drainage Early Works project in mid 2024. This project is a key component of the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) Initial Works and Early Works (IW & EW) package. SRL IW & EW is focused on the installation and upgrading of critical drainage infrastructure in the Clayton area, ensuring the efficient and safe management of water flow to support the broader SRL development. The scope provides essential drainage solutions that align with the future needs of the SRL project.

Key Project Elements:

  • DN1800 Reinforced Concrete Pipe Installation

  • Tributary Drainage Systems.

  • Decommissioning and Removal of Redundant Assets:

 

Cycon’s considerations:

  • The drainage installation works were carried out in accordance with industry standards and stakeholder requirements, ensuring compliance with Melbourne Water, City of Monash, and other relevant authorities.

  • All works were executed with a focus on minimizing disruption to local traffic, businesses, and residents along Clayton Road and Haughton Road.

  • Safety and environmental management measures were implemented throughout the project to protect the community and surrounding environment, ensuring the works are completed efficiently and responsibly.

 

The Clayton Drainage Early Works project is a critical initiative that lays the foundation for the successful development of the Suburban Rail Loop. By installing and upgrading essential drainage infrastructure, the project not only supports the construction phase but also ensures long-term sustainability and resilience for the growing Clayton area.
